Hello. It’s nice to meet you. My name is Alex Corwin Okerman, and I’m a lifelong seeker of adventure and joy. I do my best to live a creative, connected, and playful life. Service to others and personal development are at the forefront of how I operate.
In my late 20’s, I hit rock bottom. My family blew apart from my Dad’s alcoholism, I went through a divorce, lost a job, and my alcoholism locked its grip on me. The hopelessness and despair were so strong that I wanted to die. I couldn’t see a way out and despite my best efforts and intentions, I was stuck.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but I had become miserable and desperate enough that I was finally ready to do something about my situation. I was sick enough of my own shit that I was ready to ask for help. My pain and despair, now accepted as a blessing, granted me enough willingness and humility to listen to men and women who had been through similar circumstances and found a way through. Hitting bottom, really listening, being accountable, and open is where my journey of discovery and healing began.
Through Life Coaching, I can give back what I’ve learned in my journey while utilizing the skills that are inherent to my humanness and learned through my education, employment, and life experiences.
Working with others allows me to share my knowledge and experiences and approach this work with empathy, honesty, and grit. My mission is to help you find your inner power, abundant joy, and discover a sense of direction and peace.
